Cookie Policy

Which cookies we use on jara.marketing, and your choices

1. What this policy covers

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as browser storage) that Jara Marketing, Inc. uses on jara.marketing and in the Jara Marketing app. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more broadly.

We group them by purpose. Only analytics cookies are optional, and they stay off unless you accept them.

2. Strictly necessary

These make the site and app work. They don't need your consent, and you can't switch them off in our settings, though your browser can block them.

NameTypeWhat it doesHow long
__sessionCookie (jara.marketing)Keeps you signed in after you log in. It can't be read by scripts on the page.14 days, or until you sign out
Sign-in stateBrowser storage (Firebase Authentication)Remembers your signed-in account so you don't have to log in on every visit.Until you sign out or clear your browser data
jara-marketing:cookie-consentBrowser storage (localStorage)Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don't ask on every page.Until you clear your browser data, or we update this policy and ask again
App cacheBrowser cache (service worker)Stores copies of the app's static files so pages load quickly and reliably.Replaced when the app updates

3. Preferences in the app

When you're signed in, the app remembers interface choices in your browser's local storage: for example, which workspace you last used, calendar views and which sidebar sections are expanded. These stay on your device, aren't used to track you, and are cleared when you clear your browser data.

4. Analytics cookies (optional)

With your permission, we use Google Analytics to understand how people use our public pages, such as which pages are visited and how visitors arrive. We only ask on jara.marketing's public pages. Analytics never runs:

  • inside the signed-in app;
  • on links we email to you or your clients, such as client portal, contract, proposal, proof and invitation links;
  • on password reset pages;
  • on websites that our customers build or host with Jara Marketing.
NameProviderWhat it doesHow long
_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells visits from the same browser apart, so visitors are counted once.Up to 2 years
_ga_<id>Google AnalyticsKeeps track of the current visit.Up to 2 years

When analytics is on, Google receives the address of the page you're viewing with everything after the "?" removed except campaign tags (such as utm_source), the site you came from reduced to its domain, basic device and browser details, and your IP address, which Google uses to estimate your approximate location. We do not use Google Analytics for advertising: advertising storage and personalisation signals stay switched off.

5. Websites built with Jara Marketing

Websites that our customers create and host with Jara Marketing don't carry Jara Marketing's analytics cookies. If a customer adds their own tools to their website, that customer is responsible for telling their visitors about them.

6. Your choices

  • Accept or decline when the cookie banner first appears on our public pages. Declining is as easy as accepting, and the site works either way.
  • Change your mind at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of any public page. If you decline after accepting, we stop analytics straight away and delete the Google Analytics cookies from jara.marketing.
  • Use your browser to block or delete cookies and site data. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop you signing in.

7. Changes and contact

If we change the cookies we use in a way that affects your choice, we'll update this page and ask you again. Questions about this policy: privacy@jara.marketing.
